VISAVA GROUP’s raisin (kishmish) factory is on the Solapur Road (NH13) at Tidagundi in Vijayapura (Bijapur) district, north Karnataka. Vijayapura is one of India’s major grape districts, and together with Sangli and Tasgaon in neighbouring Maharashtra it forms the region where most of India’s raisins are dried. Being here means we buy close to the growers and can choose lots by eye before they are graded.
What we do at Tidagundi
- Buying — dried raisins from growers and traders of the region, chosen by variety and colour.
- Sorting and grading — long and round berries kept apart; lots graded by colour, size and evenness.
- Cleaning — stems, caps, dust, stones and broken berries removed.
- Packing — food-grade liners in bulk cartons or retail pouches, labelled by variety and grade.
- Storage and dispatch — kept cool and dry, then dispatched to buyers across India and overseas.

Are you a manufacturer or a trader?
We run our own raisin grading, cleaning and packing unit at Tidagundi. Raisins are dried by grape growers in the region; we buy, sort, grade, clean and pack them under the VISAVA name, and source a few imported types (such as Kandhari) on request.

When is the new raisin crop available?
